The app
Your key. To fetch your numbers you add an API key from App Store Connect. The contents of the .p8 file are stored in your device's keychain and are not synced through iCloud. Key ID, issuer ID and vendor number are kept in the app's settings on your device.
Requests to Apple. With this key the app queries the App Store Connect API directly: sales, subscription and usage reports and the customer reviews of your apps. Icons and public ratings of your apps come from Apple's public iTunes search, without any identifier of yours. Apple's privacy policy applies to these requests. There is no server of the developer involved.
Exchange rates. Apple reports proceeds in the currency of each storefront. To convert them into your currency, the app downloads the daily rates for the days concerned from a public rate service (fawazahmed0/exchange-api via jsDelivr or Cloudflare). Only a date and a currency are requested, nothing about you or your apps. As with any request, the service sees your IP address. Conversion uses market rates, Apple pays out at its own monthly rates.
Translating reviews. When you tap “Translate” on a review, Apple's translation feature translates the text on your device. The first time, iOS or macOS downloads the language from Apple. The review text is not sent to the developer. Apple's privacy policy applies.
Storage. All numbers and reviews the app fetches are stored on your device. They are never transferred to the developer or to third parties. For the widgets the app keeps an extract of them in a shared storage on your device, which does not leave the device either.
iCloud sync. Only if you turn it on: the app then stores the fetched numbers in your private iCloud database so your other devices receive them. Only your Apple Account has access to it, the developer cannot see it. The key is never synced. Apple's privacy policy applies to iCloud.
Notifications. The app checks with Apple in the background by itself and creates notifications on your device. There is no notification service run by the developer.
Purchases. App Portfolio Pro is handled through Apple's in-app purchase. The purchase runs at Apple, the developer receives no personal data from you.
The app contains no analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs and needs no user account.
Deleting. Remove an account in the app's settings, which also deletes its key from the keychain. Deleting the app removes all data from the device. Data kept for iCloud sync can be deleted in your device's iCloud settings under “Manage Storage”.
Hosting of this website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data such as your IP address and the time of access to deliver and protect the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses are in place. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As neither the app nor the website stores personal data with the developer, these rights have little to act on in practice. For questions, reach me at the address above.
